A Day in Life as Ginni Golightly

Writer's picture: Posh PearPosh Pear

Ginni Golightly here, nice to meet you! Well, this is how my day went:

Ughh, I must have woken up from the wrong side of the bed today, I didn’t really feel good. My body ached and I was dizzy. I don’t think I could climb down the Triple Bunk Bed ladder, soon Mrs.H. Choch came to check on me. I felt worse, so I started crying. She hugged me and soothed me and even gave me a bubble bath with my best friend forever, Olive Marlowe, but I still didn’t feel better. It must’ve been early in the morning because the morning was still a little dim. Olive and I are early risers. Olive was dried first and was put on the floor. I must have been burning up more because I was put to bed again. I woke up again, feeling a lot better. “Rise n’ shine,” greeted Bell.

She carried me upstairs and gave me a bottle of warm milk. All my baby friends were also eating and smiling. It felt good to be a baby, everyone tended to you and you were always the center of attention. This just continued on, if it wasn't for my headache I would have named this the best day ever! As I was playing on the seesaw with Olive Marlowe,

I heard Bell and Mrs. H. Choch having a conversation. Being a baby, I could barely understand any of it. Bell said, "Why can't we just give her the medicinal tea?"

Mrs. H. Choch then answered, "Bell, Ginni is so young. She needs to build her immune system first."

"Well, I guess that makes sense," gasped Bell, "Oh no! Then Ginni can't join dad to the Toy Shop!"

"Right, she'll stay at home with us. We'll make sure she has lots of fun, no one enjoys being sick."

I continued playing until I heard a car’s vroom. Oh no I was supposed to be in that car! I immediately started wailing! I wanted to go to the Toy Shop! I was just so sad! Olive tried cheering me up by pushing me really high on the seesaw, it didn't really help but I still giggled. Mrs. H. Choch then brought me downstairs to the living room. I drank a lot of milk and was given a strawberry tart. Teddy and Teda (the teddy bears) joined me. I watched for a long time and then Mr.H. Hopscotch came for lunch. He made some phone calls and David came down to read the news. Even though I couldn't go to the Toy Shop, watching TV and eating fancy tarts were just as good.

We watched a nature-y show. Honey even greeted me when her stroller ride, rode pass the window! This definitely was as fun as the Toy Shop.

Mrs. T. Choch came over with Breeze and Freya! Breeze played a lovely tune and we all played princesses in the hallway. Hopper was a fierce dragon and Henry decided he would be the knight. I got sidetracked when I looked at Mrs. T. Choch, she was washing her beautiful white fur at the second sink.

I admired her pretty flower print dress and her lady likeness. I also had silk white fur and a pretty dress and I wondered if I could grow up to be a fancy party critter too. They seemed so elegant and beautiful, city life was definitely for me. Not some quiet calm country life.

I almost forgot I was sick until I had a horrible headache again and started coughing. Back to bed for me, as I napped, I had a beautiful dream. I worked in town. I wore a pretty yellow dress with a silk layer on top and a silver brooch. I was very like Mrs. T. Choch, which was okay! I went to fancy tea parties and always hustle and bustle through the streets. City life seemed fun, very fun. I must've slept all the way till the next morning because the sun shone on my face and my body felt much better. David greeted me and brought me in upstairs for breakfast. I had mini sandwiches and the day went well.

Alright, so that was how my day went!

Cheers, Ginni Golightly Silk Cat ♡
