It was a Friday night when the Hopscotch Rabbits and Chiffon Dog children were all at the living room talking about their day and what they read in the news and so on. Heidi's day was normal, she cooked, she cleaned, the basic housewife schedule. Since tomorrow was Saturday and Harlin didn't need to work he declared that tomorrow his wife could have a day off. Heidi asked, "Are you sure you can manage?"
Harlin beamed and said, "Of course, I can. Besides, you need a nice break. You deserve it."
"Well then, thank you," Heidi said smiling.
Everyone then went to bed. The Chiffon Dogs slept in the living room. David slept on the couch and Karen connected the 2 armchairs and slept on them.
Heidi woke up at around 9, the regular time she would wake up. She turned her head and noticed Harlin wasn't there.
She could hear faint sounds coming downstairs. When she enters the kitchen she sees Harlin removing tarts from the donut grill. The reason why Harlin is using the grill to heat up the tarts is because the Hopscotch Rabbit’s lovely home didn’t have a microwave, which wasn’t a big deal. You get your food one way or another. Harlin looks up and greets Heidi, “Oh good morning, Heidi. Would you like a tart for breakfast?”
“Good morning,” she replies, “Sure, would you come and join me then?”
“Of course, the dining table is already set.”
Harlin puts the warm tarts on the tray and Heidi grabs the sugar for the coffee. They have a peaceful breakfast. “Weren’t the twins just so happy on their birthday?” Harlin chuckled.
“Yes, how their eyes grew when they finished opening all the presents?” giggled Heidi.
After breakfast, Harlin cleared the table and Heidi said she was going to visit her sister. “Take a cherry tart cake with you,” offered Harlin.
Heidi took some plates, the tart cake and the server and went to the Family Seven/Nine Seater. When she arrived at the Lakeside Lodge, the family was eating breakfast. They were all eating the finger foods Teri bought at the delicious restaurant. Knock, knock!
Freya opened the door and welcomed her aunt. "Welcome, aunt Heidi! Would you like to join us?" greeted Freya.
Heidi answered, "Yes, I'd love to! I brought some desert too."
Teri walks over and invites her sister in. Teri asks Freya, "Please get a plate for your aunt."
"Yes, mother."
Heidi sets the pie on the table and sits down. "The countryside side is so much fun!" Freya exclaims.
"Now remember, Freya, you still must act like a proper lady," says Teri.
Heidi answers, "Sis, you shouldn't be so hard on her. She's just 12."
Teri turns and says, "Yes, she is 12 and she must exceed in everything. Only way to get ahead. Heidi, I don't tell you how to teach Bell, so don't tell me about my parenting skills."
Freya mouths a Wow to her aunt.
Teri declares, "Well, now that that's settled, let's go to the balcony and have some lemonade and chat."
Freya says she'll watch Breeze. Heidi takes the pitcher and Teri grabs 2 glasses with her.
Heidi asks, "So when will Frasier and the rest of the Chocolates come?"
"Oh," Teri replies, "As soon as possible, there are still plenty of arrangements to be taken care of. Frasier just told me to take Freya and reunite with Breeze."
"Well, I hope they arrive soon," says Heidi.
After some long chatting between the sisters, Teri says, "Do you want to go in the hot tub?"
Heidi answers, "Well sure!"
Teri told Freya to turn on the hot tub. Breeze was swinging on one of the hammocks happily.
The ladies went in, their dresses patted down neatly on the side. After a relaxed and refreshing dip, they got up and put their dresses back on. Teri closed up the shower/hot tub with the wooden wall.
They went inside and joined Freya for some pie. Heidi says she should bring Honey and Bell with her the next time. Teri said it would be a wonderful idea! Heidi reminded Freya that she has to take Freya to the Deluxe Village House for the PE test today. “Mother, I’ll be leaving with Aunt Heidi, wil, you pick me up later or will Aunt Heidi drive me back?” asked Freya.
Teri answered, “I’ll pick you up, oh and take Breeze over there for a playdate. Be careful now, bye!”
Therefore, Heidi, Breeze and Freya boarded the Seven Seater and were on their way.
Back home, Skip and David had just finished breakfast. Harlin had heated up leftover biscuits and carrot stew. Skip said, “Hey, um, dad, we have a PE test today.”
Harlin, who was clearing the table, said, “Alright, I’ll check on the babies and then we’ll begin. Go get the girls. Freya should be arriving soon.”
“Aye aye captain,” said David saluting his right paw.
Then the boys rushed upstairs and told Karen and Bell the PE test would begin soon. The babies were still sleeping peacefully. All 4 children and Harlin were at the porch waiting for Freya to come. When they saw the Seven Seater pull up, they all were confused, then Heidi and Freya stepped out. Heidi kissed Harlin on the cheek and said she'll go play with the babies. Freya lines up with everyone else and was ready for the race. Harlin announced the rules and requirements, "After I yell go, all of you must run 2 laps around our house. I will be timing you with this clock. After you finished I'll tell you your time. Every one of you have to run under 8 minutes. Let's warm up and then we shall begin."
After some stretches, they lined up. Harlin was at the porch with the clock from the fireplace mantle. "Go!" he yelled.
Skip and David race off, Karen trailing behind. Freya kept pulling on her long party dress, afraid she might trip on it. As for Bell, she was never much of an athlete.
These were the places each critter received:
David Doughty Chiffon Dog
Skip Hopscotch Rabbit
Karen Doughty Chiffon Dog
Bell Hopscotch Rabbit
Freya Chocolate Rabbit
David was very proud of getting first. All 5 of them passed and Harlin was proud. Heidi shouted congrats to David from the balcony.
At night Heidi talked about her wonderful, relaxing day. Everyone was cheerful and bubbly, what an amazing day!
