Teri waited and waited, her Kabe was coming to join her in the Cloverleaf Countryside. The Chocolate Rabbits move was a messy one. The family members came one at a time, slowly, but surely soon the entire family would be reunited. First, came Breeze Chocolate, who was put under her aunt Heidi’s and uncle Harlin’s care until Teri or Frasier came around. A few months later, Teri arrived with Freya and they even bought a newly built lodge. It was close to a lake (a source of water for the families in the hilly countryside), thus it was called the Lakeside Lodge. After another long wait, Frasier Chocolate (Teri’s husband) said he could send over another child. The youngest of the family, Kabe Chocolate. Breeze’s younger and cheekier twin and Teri was bursting with excitement. If only the Chocolate’s chocolate and sweet business wasn’t so complicated, then the whole family could’ve moved in no time.
Recently, she had just bought Ginni’s bed from Natalie. Natalie kindly sold it to Teri at a very low price. It now lay in the “loft” section of the Lakeside Lodge. Breeze and Kabe would share it since they were so little, there was enough room for both of them. Breeze would sleep on one end and Kabe on the other.
She stared outside the large window and thought to herself, The weather’s nice today, the Skyride will arrive on time for sure.
The Skyride was the quickest way of transportation between the two countries, Sylvania (Teri’s former home) and Cloverleaf Corners (where Teri lived now). In the afternoon, Teri ordered Freya and Breeze to get in the car. Kabe was coming and she didn’t want to be late, also she insisted upon wearing their fancy party hats. “I always look silly in this hat,” whines Freya as she shifts uncomfortably in her seat.
“You look VERY TERI, now stop squirming, you’ll distract my driving.” stated Teri as she took a right turn.
Breeze sat quietly, unsure where she was heading. Teri hadn’t told her yet, it was going to be a surprise. Just as Teri had thought the transition was smooth. Kabe crawled into the Cherry Cruiser and there was a pleasant drive back. As long as you don’t mention, Kabe pressing buttons and pushing levers, along with almost chewing on Teri’s hat. Kabe had a long chat with his twin sister as they shared all their memories when they were apart.
When they reached the Lakeside Lodge, Kabe immediately ran around the wooden planks. “Cool,” he mumbled to himself.
Teri quickly heated up pizza in the oven and poured four glasses of water on the table. As she waited she gave her husband a call, informing Frasier that Kabe had already arrived. Freya played tag with her younger brother outside and Breeze was practicing a song she had specifically made for her twin on the porch.
“Okay, Kabe, I’ll be the tagger and you get a headstart.”
“Okay, I ready now.”
The game continued for about an hour and Teri quickly called them inside for dinner. “Mother, what happened to staying healthy?” asked Freya as she looked at the pizza.
Teri said, “It’s just this once, Freya, besides Kabe is home, we should make an exception.”
A light bulb flashed over Breeze’s head. “Well, it we make exception, shouldn’t cake be exception?”
“I don’t see why not, great idea, Breezy!”
And so, cake was cute, in addition with 4 glasses of sweet lemonade. Soon, all the Hopscotch Rabbits arrived to see Kabe. All 8 of them! (David and Karen kindly offered to watch Henry when they were away) They all climbed into the Seven Seater with excitement in their stomach. It had been some time since they saw their cousin/nephew.
“Sorry, we’re late,” Heidi apologized, “There was a bit of a holdup between strapping the babies into their seats and who sits where.”
“It’s fine, now have some cake.”
Grace, Honey and Hopper all climbed up the ladder to the loft to see Kabe and Breeze. “Hi Kabe! I your cousin, Grace!” grinned the little rabbit.
“This my bed,” said Kabe, showing his cousins the crib.
There were plenty of “Ooo’s” and “Ah’s” as the children played outside under the setting sun and the adults discussed “adult stuff”.
By nightfall, the Hopscotch’s left home and Teri cleaned up. (By cleanup, she placed the dishes in to the dishwasher)
Kabe yawned, “Night night, mama.”
“Goodnight, mother,” said Freya as she climbed into her hammock.
“Sweetie dreams,” smiled Breeze.
“Yes, yes, good night everyone.”
Kabe was back and even though things wouldn’t be as quiet and clean, everyone was at peace.
