Skip woke up extra early and just couldn’t stop smiling. An entire day with his dad! He got up and went to the bathroom and brushed his bunny teeth.

He cleaned his face and headed downstairs.

In the Hopscotch Rabbit house, Heidi was always the morning bird, she was very surprised when Skip was up so early. “Don’t you want to sleep more?” questioned Heidi.

“No, thank you, Mother. I’m too excited to sleep,” Skip said happily.

Heidi, a little surprised, replied, “Okay, breakfast will be ready soon.”

Skip sat down on one of the plush green living room arm chairs and started reading the Calico Times. There was an article on the front page talking about more people from Sylvania moving to the Cloverleaf Corners. Skip was a little amused by this because many critters in his house were from Sylvania.

Heidi brought breakfast to the dining table. This was a new cooking creation, Heidi had used the donut grill and placed a slice of pound cake, a lemon tart, and a caramel donut on top of the grill. Harlin also came down for breakfast, and when he grabbed the lemon tart, it was stone cold without crispy edges. “Good, you found out about the difference in breakfast,” Heidi said, sweetly, “Today, you'll be heating up your own breakfast. If you want it crispy, cook it longer.”

Skip thought for a moment and answered, “Brilliant!”

Heidi laughed and said she’ll go prepare breakfast for the rest of the critters. Skip could see his mother place a cherry pie on the coffee table in the living room. "What are we gonna do today?" asked Skip, as he starts cooking a caramel donut.

Harlin pokes his lemon tart and says, "We need to bring two babies, to test the toys. I think we should bring Breeze and Hopper."

It's a little unfair that Honey can't come, thought Skip. Therefore he suggests bringing the three of them. Harlin agrees it's a good idea and just this once, all of the babies can come. Harlin tells Heidi that he'll take all the babies today and Heidi says she'll prepare 2 bottles for the three for them. Then, Heidi reminds Harlin of the Monday meeting, he has to go to.

After breakfast is finished, Harlin carefully grabs each baby out of the crib and takes them down to the living room and leaves them on the soft green armchairs. Heidi gives Harlin a green basket with 2 biscuits inside as a snack; in her arms are also a bottle and a sippy cup. She and her husband head to the Cherry Cruiser to pack the food and bottles in the car.

Skip brings the dishes to the kitchen sink. When his parents come back Skip joins his father and mother at the door. Thump, thump thump, Karen, Bell and David had all woken up.

"Morning, Dad," greets Bell.

Karen and David both say, "Have a nice day at work, Mr. Hopscotch."

Karen offers bringing the babies to the car for Skip and Harlin. Harlin says yes and thanks them.

One by one the babies are gently placed in the back seat of the car. Skip jumps into the side seat and Harlin starts to drive. Everyone else waves goodbye through the window.

After a 20 minute drive, they reach the Toy Shop. Once the babies are out of the car they race to the Toy Shop, giggling happily. Skip couldn't help but notice the new white and pink swing outside the shop. Harlin caught Skip staring and told him that the Toy Shop started making larger toys meant to be put outside.

Honey jumped on the swing and Harlin went over to push her.

Skip went inside to watch the other 2 babies. Breeze was playing with the miniature Red Roof Cottage dollhouse. Hopper was about to push a miniature Cherry Cruiser down the slide of the Play Corner.

Skip took a mental note of the toys the babies preferred. Apparently, it was the toys they could relate to. Such as the house or the car. These were things that they were familiar with. Unlike the chalkboard or building blocks. This was very fascinating to Skip and started testing his theory. He pushed the chalkboard closer to Hopper. Hopper paid no attention. Skip immediately thought that this was going to be a problem. He showed Hopper how the chalkboard worked. After a while, Hopper picked up a blue piece of chalk and started drawing!

Honey came in and went to Breeze. They played with the dollhouse. Skip grabbed the stovetop playmat and put it on the play table. The doll house was moved back to the shelf and grabbed the pots and pans. Skip showed Honey how to "cook". Honey liked the idea and started chopping the pretend carrot.

At 1, Harlin drove everyone home. The babies needed a long nap and Harlin and Skip needed lunch. Coffee was at the table waiting for Harlin. The delicious smell of carrot soup wavered through the air.

After lunch and putting the babies to bed, Harlin made important phone calls. Customers of the Toy Shop would call Harlin and make orders. Then on Monday, Harlin would drive to town and make all the deliveries. Harlin could also restock on whatever Heidi needs for the week.

About 5 phone calls later, Harlin was ready to start packaging the orders. Skip followed Harlin to the car. As Harlin started the engine he mentioned the Hopper and Honey's birthday is coming in 2 weeks.

Skip then asked, "What are you going to get them?"

"Not me," chuckled Harlin, "What are WE."

Skip a little confused, said, "I don't get it."

Harlin sighed and said he'll explain later. When they reached the shop. Harlin said that he's going to buy a gigantic toy from the Toy Shop and gift it to the twins. Skip thought it was an amazing idea, but he asked why he was needed.

"Simple, it'll take a long time to build and set up, you need to make sure the babies or anyone else don't see me," replies Harlin, while he wrapps up a toy boat.

Skip agreed and loved the plan. The men continued wrapping the toys. Then they labelled each box with the address and name of the item. Harlin said he'll deliver these on Monday.

At 4, they returned home. Skip grew excitement for the coming weeks. He enjoyed the day with his father and now they were in on a birthday gift together! Skip could not wait for another day like this!
