Sugar Rush Part 2

Everyone bounded off the stairs, racing to the kitchen. Freya and Breeze, too busy watching the fun television failed to notice the clammer of kids. “I’d like a tart!” shouted Karen.

“I’ll take a chocolate tart, don’t mind if I do,” Skip claimed.

Grace giggled, “I’d fancy myself a loaf of pound cake.”

“Well, one caramel donut wouldn't hurt,” smiled Karen.

Bellia shook her head, “This is PREPOSTEROUS!”

Everyone turned to look at the yelling rabbit. She adds, “We all know we want them all, so why don’t we just say it.”

There were a few nods, couple of blinks before a loud roar came from the kitchen, “WE WANT THEM ALL!”

Freya suddenly falls out of her seat, the loudness clearly not what she expected. She was always so used to the quiet country life. Breeze paid no attention, she was completely focused on the “magic box that played pictures”.

Then the craziness started to happen, a crowd of paws started grabbing at all the sweets they could hold. Grace munched happily on an entire loaf of pound cake. A few minutes later, she rushed up the steps and barfed most of it out. It was fun while it lasted, she thought to herself.

The children (knowing their physical limit) ate less. Honey, Hopper and Henry, already well fed, sniffed around the air. They knew someone was having sweets, and they knew they wanted some too. Unlike most times, which included jumping and pulling several stunts to get desserts, this time was far easier. The children had already spread out and the kitchen was empty. A cute pink box lay on the floor, untouched. “Chocolate,” grinned Honey, already knowing what was inside.

Hopper with an even wider grin teared through the box. Inside review 6 pieces of fancy looking chocolate. Henry took 2 and the twins took 4. Each was so beautiful, crafted into a unique shape. They gobbled down the sugar-y goodness in glee and they themselves started spreading all over the place. Skip, Bell and Bellia had ran to the hallway. Skip decided to throw books down for Bellia to catch and Bell was doodling in a notebook. “I never knew this was so much fun,” comments Skip.

“I KNOW RIGHT!” Bellia hollered, louder than usual.

The camping book flew down from Skip’s arms and landed right in the middle of his older sister’s face. Instead of the typical yelling, Bellia just fell to the floor, kicking and laughing.

Bell gleefully, showed her younger siblings her latest “masterpiece”, which contained a series of scribbles and circles. Its quality was no where near the realistic drawing she typically made. Everyone just smiled and laughed, but when it came to Freya…

“Bell! What are you doing?! This is not nearly as good as your others!”

Bell blinked before stating, “It’s abstract art, duh! Now, this wall is far to plain, some artwork would be nice!”

Upstairs Teri had already left the Nightlight Nursery. She was going to heat up dinner, she didn’t seem to pay attention to the missing pie, tarts, donuts, macarons and chocolates. There was a shredded box on the floor, but that was all. Salt and pepper boiled flour, squash slices and carrot tea, perfect!

The babies all played upstairs, but this was a new game. They fancied knocking down their toys and scattering them all over the floor. Henry was having an intense conversation with Teddy’s chair. “Whatcha doing?” Henry asked.

The chair said nothing back, yet Henry burst out laughing. “Good one!”

Hopper and Honey found much joy of spreading out their books, teddies and toys. Grace was busy jumping around with on the pink rocking horse. “Weeeeee!” she squealed.

Freya took notice of the strangeness and quickly rushed to tell her mother who was heating up the boiled flour. Teri carelessly waved it off, stating a little sugar never harmed anyone. This led to Freya showing her a recent newspaper article written by the doctor of Cloverleaf Corners:

“It says ‘too much’, Freya. A little sugar never hurt anyone,” ridiculed Teri.

“But they’re almost bouncing off the walls, mom, you have to do something!” she cried.

Teri said in response, “Key word, Freya: almost.”

Freya sighed and screamed as she saw a mess of lines on the living room wall. She ran out the door and to the Tuxedo’s house.

Hours passed and the sugar rush had not worn off. In the dining room, Grace was dancing on top of the white table. “LA, LA, LA, LA!” she yelled.

Freya had already come back to her aunt and uncle’s house and began erasing the pencil marks Bell made with the Tuxedo Cats’ eraser. Karen bounced on Harlin and Heidi’s bed and Breeze was still watching the TV. Everything seemed to be a mess, but the worst part was that Freya’s mother did not even seem to notice. Henry was still having his conversation with the chair, until he finally dozed off. Narcolepsy plus a sugar crash meant “good night” for little Henry Periwinkle.

One by one, each little critter fell asleep on the floor. (Excluding Grace, who fell asleep on the dining table)

When they awoke, they all went downstairs. The pencil marks were all been erased by their cousin, Freya. Teri smiled at them, “Well, I need to go. I got a VERY TERI to write and deliver. Ta-ta!”

Freya and Breeze both wave goodbye. Teri adds, “Oh and don’t forget to clean up the mess you made!”

The ending was very funny, along with the many photos. Each critter's sugar rush was hilarious, especially Grace's and Henry's!

Keep it up, Ali and Yosemite, these tales are great :D

This was probably your best story ever. I can't say how much I laughed. (And yes, I have had a sugar rush before.)
