The past few days had been agony for Harlin Hopscotch. What started out as a relaxing Sunday afternoon came out to be a long drive to the television repairman. Then, after paying for repairs, the television was still broken. The only thing left to do was go back in town again for a second set of tinkering.
Harlin had ended up 20 minutes past his designated Tuesday lunch break to go to town for a second set of repairs.
“Oh, what did the repairman say?” Heidi asked as a worried wife.
“He said that this was an odd case. He was sure it was the receptors, but now thought it was the energy circuit. He said that it’s possible the energy circuit is broken. That would explain how the TV doesn’t have enough power to create motion or fully light up.”
“Well, I hope it’s really fixed now.” Harlin concluded. “Now, we’ll have to ask Mason and Natalie to help us with moving the TV again!”
“I see Mason baking some bread now,” Heidi noticed.
Together, the rabbit couple went to ask for help again.
“Hi, Natalie. Hi, Mason,” the two greeted. Natalie had just come out of the house after noticing her two visitors.
“Oh, hello, Heidi! Hello, Harlin! Looking for some fresh baked bread?” Natalie asked.
“I have a fine selection of shaped bread over on that rack,” Mason mentioned. He often let the rabbits take a free loaf or two. It was the least he could do after using their showers for such a long time.
“No, no, it’s okay. We were actually hoping for help in moving our television again,” Harlin brought up.
“Oh, it’s still broken?!” Mason sounded very surprised.
“We hope it’s not anymore. Had to send it into town during my lunch break for work.” Harlin grumbled dissatisfied.
“Of course, we’ll help,” Natalie concluded.
So, the kind neighbors assisted Heidi and Harlin once again.
“Oh, the poor luck you’ve been having lately,” Natalie pitied.
The four hoisted the TV back out the swung open car door, up the short flight of patio steps, through the Deluxe Village House’s door frame, and finally back into its old place in the Deluxe Living Room.
“I have a feeling this will be the time,” Heidi said in enthusiasm to help her rather down husband. Skip, who was just coming down at the moment to have a cup of water, noticed all the commotion. His mother explained briefly.
Skip asked, “May I have the honor?” The adults let him flick the knob in bursting anticipation…
