Even though Kabe made Teri’s home messier, Teri’s schedule stayed the same. There would always be a VERY TERI post in the Calico Times. One cold morning at 10 AM, the Chocolate
Rabbits headed to the Tuxedo Cats’ home to have some brunch. “Don’t forget your hat!” reminded Teri, already out the door.
“I look silly in this hat,” rebutted Freya, hesitant to grab her hat off the hat rack.
“Nonsense, it makes you look VERY TERI!”
“Fine,” sighs Freya.
Natalie clearly planned well for this brunch. There was melon bread, yogurt, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs and soy milk.
“Wow!” commented Freya.
“Sit, sit, and I hope you brought an empty stomach.”
Rose kindly offered to take Teri and Freya’s hats up stairs. Rose headed up the stairs and placed the pink and the blue hat next to her and Lily’s shared baker’s apron and hat.
Then the Tuxedo Cat grabbed a chair from her and her sister’s desk downstairs. “Breeze and Kabe may go play upstairs with Olive and Ginni,” offered Natalie, “Did they have breakfast yet?”
Freya answered, “Yes, I thought they’d prefer to play with the kittens than have brunch.”
As the babies left to play,
Teri, Natalie, Lily, Rose and Freya chatted. The topics ranged from education, recreation, family,
fashion and of course, Teri’s next VERY TERI. “I love your hat, Mrs.Choch,” compliments Lily.
Rose agrees, “Yes, your sense of fashion is amazing.”
“They are beautiful,” Natalie Charcoal gushed.
Teri smiled and the idea for tomorrow’s VERY TERI post hit her instantly. The idea was too great not to share and Teri instantly blurted out (in a fancy way), “I know what my next VERY TERI will be!”
Natalie and her daughters turned to look at Teri with eyes as wide as saucers. “Well?” asked
Lily, before getting a look from her mother.
It’s rude, mouthed Natalie.
Teri replied, “It’s VERY TERI, elegant, it’s perfect! Natalie, could I write the post upstairs in your daughters’ room please? The idea is too good to wait.”
“Of course you may!” nodded Natalie, “There’s some MEMO cards upstairs along with a pencil
and red pen.”
Teri headed up and found the stationery with no problem. Rose had already moved the desk chair back for Teri, everything was in order. Teri grabbed her pencil.
Now all Teri had to do was write.
Teri beamed proudly at her work, it was VERY TERI! Who knew? Maybe queens really did where these VERY TERI hats, and if so Teri would have been the first to discover it and that was VERY TERI!
The Chocolate’s went home, late that afternoon (after making a stop at Heidi and Harlin’s house
for a visit). Teri quickly delivered her latest master piece and picked up a salad and finger foods
from the Delicious Restaurant for dinner.
The morning after, “VERY TERI: Hats”, was published, Teri’s daughter, Freya, was in shock.
“Mother! You can’t say queens wore party hats!” reprimanded Freya.
“What do you mean? Here’s the logic: Queens are VERY TERI, party hats are VERY TERI, so
VERY TERI queens wore VERY TERI hats!” Teri explained.
Freya stammers, “B-but you c-can’t prove that!”
“And you can not un-prove it either.”
That was that and no reader really seemed to mind, it was Teri’s opinion after all. In fact, a few readers even called asking more information about royalty!
