VERY TERI: Nature

Writer's picture: Posh PearPosh Pear

It was one of those cold, windy mornings where you didn’t want to get out of your bed. Unless you were Teri Choch, a very different critter from the rest. She happily got up and hummed a happy tune. She fixed herself a salad for breakfast because recently her daughter told her about eating healthy. Usually Teri waved off the comments, but Freya brought up the fact that salad give you energy. For example, energy to write VERY TERI posts and energy to be VERY TERI. From then on, Teri always ate three salads a week. Today, Teri wanted extra energy, so she gobbled down her salad and a glass of lemonade.

Today, Teri would be doing the very first VERY TERI post with her daughter. They decided the post to be about nature because of Freya’s wonderful drawing. She happily took out her daughter’s drawing, some MEMO cards and a blue pencil. She cleaned Breeze’s piano and started envisioning her and Freya writing the VERY TERI with Breeze’s music in the background. Teri sighs happily. “This will be a good day,” she cheerfully tells herself.

When Freya wakes up, Teri impatiently asks Freya if Breeze was going to wake up soon. “No, I don’t think so. She slept late last night because she was learning the latest musics,” Freya answered.

Teri heaved a heavy sigh. She told her daughter to sit down and eat some breakfast, while she took a shower. When Breeze comes down for breakfast, Teri was asking if Freya would like more breakfast.

Teri rushes her youngest daughter to eat breakfast, cleans the dishes and sits down with Freya, while Breeze played her lovely music. A fancy tune was in the background and Teri and Freya got started with brainstorming.

“First paragraph should be an introduction,” Freya suggested.

Teri agreed and started asking Freya how she would like to be introduced. “I’ll write my introduction.”

Suddenly, Breeze’s music stops abruptly. Teri goes up the ladder and notices Breeze had fallen asleep when playing music. This usually never ever happens and Teri sighs. She thinks to herself, Guess there won’t be any music.

Freya just smiles and brings her little sister to bed. The morning went on, Teri and Freya discussing what to write and who’s going to write what. “Let me take a note of that. Oops, uh, mom, the pencil broke. Sorry,” informs Freya.

Teri sighs once again and tells Freya to stay in the house and she will drive over to Heidi’s to use her sister’s cooking knife to sharpen it. When Teri arrives home, she finds Freya on the floor picking up wet MEMO cards. Teri urgently inquires, “What happened here?”

“Sorry, mom. I dropped my glass of lemonade on the MEMO cards we were using,” Freya explains, “Sorry, but I think we have to start over.”

Freya was right, the MEMO cards were all soaked in lemonade and the writing had become botched and blurry. Teri nods, “Soaked VERY TERI cards are not VERY TERI. Come on, we better get to work.”

For the rest of the afternoon, Freya and her mother continued writing and tried to remember every detail they had written on the soaked cards. “I think we talked about nature then the introduction first, right? Or was it the other way around?” Freya questioned, trying her best to remember what happened.

Teri complained, “Nonsense! Intro first, then nature. Ugh, this is so frustrating!”

Freya didn’t say a thing, instead she grabbed the stationary, her mother’s paw and brought her outside.

Freya smiles at her mother and says, “It’s okay, mom. Everything will turn out alright.”

“How do you know?” Teri replies.

“Because we are together,” Freya explains.

Those four simple words hit Teri, “Yes togetherness. How about we write this post in the sun?”

Freya nods and the two walk towards the spot where Freya drew her drawing. Everything seemed peaceful in the sun, surrounded by lots of flora and fauna. The VERY TERI post went well, for this is what Teri and Freya wrote together:

The next day when Heidi Choch was getting the Daily Paper she noticed that right below the news of a spring party was Teri and Freya’s VERY TERI post!

It had gotten onto the front page, and on the second page was Freya’s drawing, but with many interviewed critters praising the drawing in quotes. Of course, one of them was Natalie Charcoal who had went all the way to the newspaper stand, just to give a praise.

In the same morning, Natalie checked her mail slot of her house and was ecstatic to see her idol’s daily post to be on the front page!

Natalie immediately walked to the Lakeside Lodge to congratulate Teri and Freya.

A big celebration was held and Teri and Freya agreed that they would do this again one day.
