Teri had gone to the country to visit her sister and start her family’s move there for a change of scenery. Weeks had passed and all the settling in had been done. The house was furnished, Teri learned the routes to town and her sister Heidi’s Deluxe Village House, Freya had learned to get used to homeschooling. All that was left to do was wait for Frasier Chocolate Rabbit, Teri’s husband, sell the house, prepare the right documents, and ensure their candy selling business would be taken care of in Sylvania Village. Teri passed the time by having morning coffee and tarts with her sister, busying herself with cleaning, and ensuring her daughters were top students. At first, the new schedule was a bit of a joy to Teri, but time passed. Teri missed the town shops, the town tram, and all the social opportunities in Sylvania Village.
One day, during breakfast with her sister, she exclaimed, "I can’t take it anymore. There’s nothing much to do! Everything is so plain, original, and the same! The same coffee and tarts, the same cleaning, and the same schedule!”
Heidi said with a concerned tone,”You need a hobby, Teri.”
“But what could I do?”
“Since you have such a fine opinion about everything and the country is such a new experience for you, why don’t you keep a journal? You could always use some of Freya’s spare memo cards. Who knows? Maybe the newspaper would accept your writing for some Sylvanian view of Cloverleaf Corners”
Teri paused to think for a moment and agreed.
That afternoon, she sat herself down on the table of her Party Set and began to write peacefully in her fancy handwriting:
Teri paused and read her own entry. Short, simple, but very opinionated. She drove to town after letting Freya know in her Cherry Cruiser.
Teri was overjoyed to see Calico Times accept the offer. The deal was an entry everyday that would be published the next day. Teri would get a decent allowance from this side hobby.
The next morning, Teri went over for breakfast with Heidi once more. This time, instead of talking, they were swooning as they read Teri’s entry.
“It’s such a big deal that you can write in the newspaper, Aunt Teri,” Bell praised.
“Yeah, I’m related to someone famous!” Skip enthusiastically added.
From that day on, Teri continued to write her Very Teri entries with much praise from the people of Cloverleaf Corners who had always been curious about Sylvanian critters. Teri looked forward to these writes and was never bored again.
Thanks, Cheri! We are so glad you liked the story. We do our best to get into character.
